Pacific Aviation Museum & USS Arizona Memorial Combo

Tour ID: OPAT-01
Duration: 8 Hours
Location: Oahu, Hawaii
Departs from: major hotels in the Waikiki area

This combination tour package includes admission to the Pacific Aviation Museum, located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor, South Oahu, and the USS Arizona Memorial and Visitor Center. The two locations offer a first-hand glimpse into one of the most significant events in world history, the Pearl Harbor attacks of 1941. This tour is a must for military and history buffs, but also a memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages from all nations.

The tour begins on Hanger 37, a former seaplane hangar that survived the military attacks of World War II. Visitors are invited to watch a ten minute movie about the Pearl Harbor attack before touring the museum's exhibits. The museum features period and reproduction aircrafts and a World War II flight simulator, as well as other items and articles that educate guests about the roles played by aviation crews, engineers, ground crews and other aviation personnel who defended the Pacific region during World War II. The museum is dedicated to their patriotism, bravery and sacrifice, with the purpose of preserving the history of Pacific aviation, highlighting the period from the Pearl Harbor attacks to the end of World War II. You will tour three historic hangars and an air traffic control tower within the museum's 16 acres.

The USS Arizona Memorial spans the hull of the sunken battleship USS Arizona, a National Historic Landmark and active US Military Cemetery that is the final resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors onboard who were killed when forces from the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Visitors are able to view the monument from the 21 windows, symbolic of a 21 gun salute to the sailors who gave their lives defending freedom, and can throw flowers into the viewing opening in the floor for them. The Memorial's visitor center has a marble monument etched with all the names of those who died, and also holds one of the Arizona's original anchors and one of its two bells.
